Week 01 - 2D/3D

Week 1  Expanding your Knowledge:

As I have been absent for the first 4 weeks of this semester, I have gone through all the notes, powerpoint presentations, and fellow students blogs's to get a general idea of what has been discussed and covered over the weeks to date.

Group Discussion, Practical and Homework:

(Parts of the following information have been taken from fellow students blogs as a reference)

The group discussed possible sources of information for the course. The sources have been identified by the group:

Web:
The internet is one of the most powerful and effective ways to source information. It is a quick, easy search tool to gather a vast range of information which in the past, would have either taken 10 times the time, or not at all. A negative to this however is that the information we gather is not always reliable and credible. This is what needs to be kept in mind when information is sourced.

www.youtube.com.au

In the instance of youtube will use this source to find interesting video clips to emphasize either a design concept, idea or to demonstrate a thought process. The source could also be used to compare one design idea to another, to refine an idea, or assist me with producing my 2D design. Therefore, the only issues i will encounter will be to reference anything I use due to plagiarizing rules.

Books:
Amazon.com

I have used this site to purchase the following book to assist me with my 2D designs.

Library
CDU, Darwin Public Library, Nightcliff, Casuarina, Palmerston

Bookshops
Dymocks
Borders
Amazon.com

Other Students:
Design Students in Orange 11, CDU

Source for inspiration and help with challenging ideas for my design.

Exhibitions:

Galleries
Darwin Art Gallery

I would use the Darwin Art Gallery as a source for inspiration and industry expertise.
