Week 2 - Expanding your knowledge:


Practical - Design Student Shoulder Bag:

In this class, the students were asked to design a student shoulder bag. As I was absent, I have read over fellow students blogs and drawn up a rough shoulder bag design using photoshop. Please see below:

Shape - Rectangular sholder bag with triangular flap with buckle to close.
Media -  Waterproof nylon outer, thick satin interior.
Style - Modern shape, slim, perfect for laptop and books.

 I got the idea from this Jimmy Choo leather handbag. I changed the straps and the clasp. I thought that a standard clasp would be functional for a students sholder bag.

I also found this video on YouTube. It gives a brief demonstration of how to design a handbag using specific fashion design computer software. it allows the designer to add textruee, colour, and draw the basic shapes to produce their designs digitally. I think it is an extremely effective program for designers.
