Week 3 - Creative Thinking techniques: 


Group Exercise:

Today the class looked at generating ideas for an echo friendly mode of transport. The group decided to design a mode of transport simular to the Segway. Please see below:

The above YouTube video demonstrates how the Segway is operated, for example, how to go forward, backward, side ways. This is what the groups design will be modeled from. 

Practical: 

This option was chosen due to to its versatility. The following elements that could be incorporated into the design:
- Ability to be solar powered meaning it will be eco friendly;
- Appealing design, for example shade feature
- Family Friendly, duel Segway or family segway. Allows for mums/dads to drive with the kids in the     back. And Finally;
- Safe to environment and community, by restricting the speed limit to discourage young hoons.

The name options included:
- Ecocaddy;
- Eco Nomik; and
- e'Co.


Option 1-The 'E-Cab'. The E-Cab would resemble an asian taxi. I like this picture because the design incorporates the multiple passanger element that I like. I would put solar panals on the roof so that it will generate its own power as it is being used. The only problem is that i'm not too sure how it would work like the Segway when it has more than two wheels. perhaps add a small motor.

Option 2: The 'EecMob' is simular to the E-Cab however it will incorporate both  small motor aswell as a push peddle mechanism for when the power is running low. In these instances, the power would be used to get the car started, however it but would then turn off as soon as the can has got enough momentum to be self peddled.  

The car would use a combination of fuel, electricty, solar power and manual power.
